$142M CAD, CANADIAN NUCLEAR LABORATORIES, PORT HOPE AREA INITIATIVE, ONTARIO

The team performed multiple projects at the Port Hope Site in support of the Long-Term Waste Management Facility (LTWMF), one of the most complex and high-profile sites in Ontario. The team excavated, segregated, and stockpiled low-level radioactive waste (LLRW); constructed Cells 1, 2A, 2B, and 3; and is currently performing facility construction, operation, and closure at the LTWMF. Both on-site and off-site LLRW is being placed within the LTWMF cells. The team installed a leachate pumping system connecting cells to the Port Hope groundwater treatment system. Currently, the team is performing operational activities at the LTWMF and is remediating four industrial sites within the municipality of Port Hope.
