Ranked as one of ReNew Canada’s Top 100 Canadian Infrastructure Projects of the Year, the team executed the largest Brownfields redevelopment project in North America: the Sydney Tar Ponds Project. The project involved the solidification and stabilization of approximately 650,000 cubic meters of element TP6B-contaminated soil and sediments found on the Tar Ponds and Coke Oven Sites, as well as the construction of a 20-meter-wide channel discharging into Sydney Harbour. The team primarily utilized local labor and Canadian subcontractors to complete the project and a large percentage of the materials used on site were purchased in the Cape Breton region.
